Swan Oyster Depot

Fun place!  Great staff.  Freshest seafood.  Had oysters, clams, sashimi,  and a crab cocktail.  Cash only.  Last seating was 2pm.  The sashimi and the littleneck clams were the highlights for me.

Sadden me to know that many don't go here now because someone or a bunch of people called them racist.

Food has not changed , my go to is usually crab Louie , chowders, and small order of combo sashimi .
However, today they still had cherry stones and crab back. I can't get these where I live now ...so crab back and cherry stones it is ! + anchor steam which closing down this week .
Best to catch a Uber or Lyft .

As expected, a bit of a wait but totally worth it. We got the half cooked crab, chowder, a dozen oysters & the crab salad. The service was amazing albeit unexpected. Kudos SOD!

As an SF native, this place didn't disappoint. Friendly old school staff and fresh sea food. Complimenti paesani. Keep doing your thing!

Definitely my go to restaurant for fresh oysters!  Wish it has the oyster selections from pre pandemic.

Swan's is such a special place. I came here on a whim based on a rec of my taxi driver and was not disappointed. I arrived about an hour before they stopped seating people & the line was probably 12 people deep. I was lucky to snag one of the last spots, and once I saw how intimate the space was, it made sense why the line moved so slowly. They'll also allow you to skip the line if you're just getting take away.

As for the food, everything I tried was great and very fresh. My favorite dish was probably the Sicilian crudo - it was just so flavorful and I loved having a variety of fish - salmon, tuna, yellowtail, & scallops. I also really liked the variety salad which had big & small shrimps and some of the best crab that I've had - be sure to ask for the Louie sauce too - it's fantastic. Oysters/clams were great as well. What I liked the most was how friendly and accommodating the staff was - they'll basically curate the dishes you get based on your likes - it was a really nice touch and they don't rush you at all.

I didn't realize it was cash only, but they were nice enough to point me in the direction of a couple nearby atms. Can't recommend this place enough! Worth the wait.

So so good. the smoked salmon fish is soo tender, buttery and good. We went pretty early around 9:30-10am and waited about 20minutes. Friendly and awesome staff. Pricey and cash only but its a really pleasant place to enjoy fresh fish, great music with great staff. Family run four for generations.
